Room 9 individually wrote some fascinating facts towards the end of our Olympics study, then chose the most fascinating fact and explained why. Here are a few responses.

Jessica       'NZ won 9 medals and I thought we would only get 5.

Russell     thought the mascots were fascinating because they represented different aspects of Chinse culture and Fahim realised the colours represented the colours of the rings which represented the five continents.

Barend     thought it was amazing that  Mahy Drysdale persisted when he wasn’t well.

Jaylei        was fascinated by the ways ancient and modern games Change over time.

Molly        was surprised that there are so many sports played now. Annie and Aaliyah were also surprised and found out about sports they didn't know existed.

Natsumi    was amazed the olympics were held every four years as she was was aware that it was expensive to host.

Jayden and Jack C.B.  were interested in the torch because it was designed by the host country and burnt for the entire games.
